The methods for the Climate Smart Restoration Tool were developed from a collaborative effort between Bryce Richardson1, Jerry Rehfeldt2, Elizabeth Milano1, and Cuauhtémoc Saenz Romero3,4. Conservation Biology Institute (Libbey White, Nikolas Stevenson-Molnar, Kerrie Ishkarin, Tyler Sheldon, Gladwin Joseph) and US Forest Service research (Co-PIs Bryce Richardson and Elizabeth Milano) developed the webtool.

Vegetation data acquisition was a collaborative effort through North American Forest Commission, Forest Genetic Resources Working Group and each country's vegetation inventory programs. Vegetation data was compiled by Elizabeth Milano and Elizabeth Campbell5. We thank the following national forest inventory programs:
